Is Sabine the most important character coming out of the finale of Star Wars Rebels?

With the Battle of Endor won, what could the future now hold for Sabine Wren?

In a dramatic finale, Star Wars Rebels showed us what role each of the Ghost crew had in the Rebellion and victory over the Empire. With the reveal of Ahsoka in A World Between Worlds many believed that Ahsoka would be the main character moving forward, but the ending of Rebels indicated that Sabine will also be part of this future, and perhaps play a big part in the development of the Republic.

Ezra indicated that Sabine had her own role to play in what he was planning. At first she believed that this was in the Rebellion, but then she started to realize it may have something to do with finding Ezra again, or being involved in re-balancing the Force. This was further added to by the appearance of Ahsoka at the end of this episode, and the sight of seeing both characters leave together.

In A World Between Worlds Ahsoka also made it clear that she had her own path to follow and things to accomplish. Could these be similar motives to what Sabine realizes she has to do? It seems likely that Sabine is going to be connected with Ahsoka’s story moving forward.

Obviously there is a lot more Star Wars coming soon. Disney have a whole new streaming platform to support and it seems very likely that the new Star Wars series will feature on it. We assumed that this series will fill in the gaps between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens (probably focusing on other characters than what the Aftermath trilogy did). If this series does feature Ahsoka as a main character Sabine will almost certainly be included too.

But sadly at the moment we don’t know what their shared mission is, or what they plan to do. Hopefully more will be revealed soon…
