Thoughts on the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story (video of the teaser included)
Just like Han Solo’s life, Solo: A Star Wars Story’s production has been full of trials and tribulations. Produced by Lucasfilm, the filming begun in January 2017, led by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. However in June 2017 the duo left due to “creative differences”, with Ron Howard taking over as director. Many have suggested that this troubled production was the main cause in the delay for the highly anticipated trailer, but finally we got to see a glimpse during a Super Bowl ad-break.
Sadly the trailer offers little in the way of insight into what the movie will focus on. It looks like Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) has been captured by the Empire, who feature heavily in this teaser. Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) is also featured, but little is shown about how Chewey and Han meet. We know for sure that Solo is "the greatest pilot in the galaxy", but will this be the greatest movie in the Star Wars galaxy? Guess we'll have to wait and see...
Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to release on March 25th, 2018. It’ll be interesting to see how the Star Wars community react to the origin story for one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Be sure to get in touch and let us know your thoughts!
